This week, I went into the vault and found a very in-depth and interesting conversation I have with my friend Jenny, a meteorologist. In this week’s episode, we talk about meteorologists and she debunks some of my misconceptions about the occupation and what exactly they do.

She shares her journey, how she became a specialized Marine Forecaster, and how she predicts the weather using data. She explains the different career paths you can take, including broadcast weather person and how it’s much harder than it seems.

She compares the difference between offshore work and broadcast and her experience working with veteran mariners. She also opens up about the pressures of her job, how easy it is to get involved in the social and political aspects, and ensuring that safety is the utmost priority.
